Whether you're a novice or an experienced snowshoer, there's something for everyone to enjoy in this wintry wonderland.

The Introductory Snowshoeing Adventure is approximately 2 hours hiking and 1 hour traveling to and from Anchorage.
Introductory Snowshoeing Adventure: 2.5 miles and 400 feet (or 40 flights of stairs).
The Introductory Snowshoeing Adventure is recommended for ages 8 and up.
Snowshoeing is not recommended for those with cardiac or respiratory issues/illness, and may be difficult for those with severe joint issues.
Provisions include a pre-packed snack, courtesy of Kat’s Epic Trail Bites, snowshoes, and a shuttle from Egan Center on 5th Ave in Downtown Anchorage. Day packs and trekking poles are available upon request.
All of the tours will be hiking through the Chugach State Park and along the Glen Alps. All trips will be departing at the Egan Center on 5th Ave in Downtown Anchorage, although you have the option to meet the tour at the start of the trailhead. Please arrive no later than 10 minutes prior to your tour. The tour operator asks participants to wear a mask or face covering while in the vehicle during transportation to and from the trailhead in accordance with local COVID-19 rules.
The main thing you need to know is to NEVER wear cotton. Cotton holds water and keeps you cold and wet. They recommend merino wool or synthetic materials such as spandex or polyester. These materials wick moisture and keep you warm when you are wet.
All items are the responsibility of the guest. Go Hike Alaska has a no firearms policy, regardless of any legal licensing that allows the carrier to do so. This includes in the vehicle while transporting you to and from the activity. Drone usage is prohibited under the Chugach State Park regulations.
There are parking garages near the Egan Center as well as public transit. You also have the option to meet the tour at the start of the trailhead using your own arranged transportation.

The tours operate are rain or shine. However, if the weather is too severe (i.e. thunder, lightning, hail, blizzard, etc.) you will have an option for a full refund. If there is not enough snow accumulation to go snowshoeing, you will have the option to go winter hiking or you can opt for a full refund. This is to be determined the morning of your tour.
Solo travelers are welcome to book, however please note that this tour will have a 2-person minimum requirement to operate. In the event you are the only person on the hike, the operator will contact you within 24 hours prior to your tour and provide you with the option to move to a different time & date, upgrade to a private hike, or cancel for a full refund.
They have a strict no pet policy. Service animals are welcome, however be aware that the trail you booked might be too hard for him/her.
