This interpretive adventure begins as you travel in a cutting edge Jeep Wrangler through spectacular canyon lands with towering red rock formations. The ancient ruins of a 700-year-old Sinaguan cliff dwelling come alive as your guide reveals the customs, myths, and legends of native ancestors. You will be captivated as you stand among the ancient walls of this world class site. Listen as your guide offers insight into the possible meanings and symbolism of the intriguing rock-art displayed within the ruins.

Frequently Asked Questions about Ancient Ruins - Pink Jeep Tour

What are the hours of operation?
Tour departs every hour from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm.

The office in uptown Sedona is open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm year round (summer months the office stays open until 8:00 pm).

The Contact Center is open November 5 - March 10 from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm (6:00 am to 10:00 pm March 11 - November 4).

Are there any age/physical/health/etc. restrictions for this tour? 
For the safety of passengers, all guests must have upper body strength with the ability to hold themselves up during the tour. Guests are responsible for getting themselves in and out of our vehicles for their tour.

Note: most of our tours do not require hiking, although they do have picture stops where you will be getting out of the vehicle and doing short walks on uneven terrain. Our Ancient Ruins tour does include a 3/4 mile walk through the ruin site that takes approximately 45 minutes. The Touch the Earth tour also has some walking up hills. If you are interested in hiking specifically, consider our 2.5 Hiking Tour.

What should I bring? 
Sunscreen and a bottle for water. We have a water refill station located at our merchandise store to keep your bottle full of water. Don't forget to bring a camera!

Note: a purse or standard sized backpack are acceptable, however, there is no storage space in our vehicles. Anything you bring needs to fit comfortably in your lap throughout the tour. Due to the bouncy nature of our tours, full meals or glass bottles are prohibited on the vehicle. If necessary, you are welcome to bring a small containable snack such as a granola bar. Due to Arizona law, alcoholic beverages are prohibited in our vehicles.

What should I wear?
We recommend wearing comfortable outdoor clothing with closed toe shoes. For sunset tours or tours to the Grand Canyon, we recommend layered clothing. Temperatures can be colder at night and the Grand Canyon is 10 - 15 degrees colder than Sedona.

Note: you may want to bring a hat and switch to eyeglasses if you wear contacts (tours can be dusty and this can irritate your eyes if you wear contacts).

Where is it located?
All of our tours depart from our office which is located at 204 N. Highway 89A, Sedona, AZ 86336.

Is the tour appropriate for children? 
Yes, the minimum a for Jeep tours is 18 months; 3 years old for Grand Canyon Tours.

Is transportation included? If so, where is the pick-up spot or how do I arrange it? 
Yes, all of our tours can accommodate hotel pick-ups;

Grand Canyon Tours: automatically scheduled with a hotel pick-up. However, for reservations made the evening before the tour departure, you will need to check-in at our office in uptown Sedona.

Jeep tours: at customer request. Pick-ups are accommodated either before the tour, in our complimentary shuttle, or during the tour in a Jeep (pick-up time comes out of the tour time). This is determined by tour of choice and the hotel location.

Can I bring my pet?
No, we do not allow dogs on our Grand Canyon Premier or Grand Canyon Express tours due to the length of tour and comfort of all of our guests. The Ancient Ruins tour visits a national heritage site that does not allow animals to enter the site.

Service animals are permitted on all of our tours.

What safety precautions are in place for the activity (if any)?
Our guides are highly trained in how to maneuver the vehicles and have been thoroughly trained in 4X4 techniques. Our guides are also Smith System Safety and Compliance trained for road safety and are CPR and first aid certified.
