What are the hours of operation? Houmas House is open for tours every day from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Are there any restrictions for this tour?Food and beverages are not allowed inside the plantation home.
What should I wear?We suggest that guests wear comfortable shoes. High heels are not recommended as the property is quite expansive. In the summer months our climate is very warm. We do suggest cool, comfortable clothes. Our winters are mild, but occasionally it does get cold so please be prepared. The mansion, restaurants, and gift shop are all centrally air conditioned and heated.

Is transportation included? If so, where is the pick-up spot or how do I arrange it? Transportation is not included. If you need transportation, we recommend you rent a car. If coming from New Orleans, daily bus service is available.
Is the tour wheelchair accessible? Houmas House is completely handicap accessible. Walking paths throughout the grounds make it easy for wheelchairs. Golf cart service is available upon request. The mansion is equipped with an elevator for guests not able to navigate stairs.
Can I bring my camera?Yes, Photography is allowed inside the plantation home and anywhere on the property.
How long is the tour?The tour of the mansion is approximately 1 hour. Tour the gardens at your leisure.
Can I bring my pet? We allow well behaved dogs on the mansion tour on a leash. However, if other guests on the tour are not comfortable with the dog, we ask that you wait for the next tour. We offer mansion tours every half hour.
