  • Wear closed-toe, sturdy shoes, shorts/pants, and a t-shirt. Tank tops are not recommended.
  • Participants must be at least 8 years old and weigh at least 70lbs. Recommended max weight is 270lbs.

Kohala Zipline Requirements:
  • Guests must wear closed-toe walking shoes.
  • Lightweight pants, capris or knee-length shorts, and a light sweatshirt or overshirt are recommended.
  • Must weigh between 70 and 270 lbs. Participants will be weighed at check-in.

  • Must be able to walk over unpaved terrain and handle a short climb.
  • Minor children require a parent or guardian to sign their participation agreement, and children between the ages of 8 and 13 require an adult to zip with them.
  • This tour is not for those with back or neck problems, an extreme fear of heights or expectant mothers.
  • Must be age of 8 or older, weight requirement is strictly enforced.
  • Guests must wear closed-toe walking shoes and Pants, capris, or knee length shorts. No Tank tops, Short-shorts, or any clothing that may allow direct skin contact with the harness.

Directions from Kona/Kohala Resorts:
  • Take Highway 19 (Queen Kaahumanu Hwy) north to Highway 270 (Akoni Pule Hwy)
  • Turn left onto Highway 270 and continue approximately 21 miles to the intersection of Highway 270 and Hawi Road.
  • Turn right on to Hawi Road. Kohala Zipline is the historic yellow building on the left behind the gas station.

What are the physical restrictions for the activity?

All participants must weigh between 70 and 270 pounds. This is strictly enforced for the safety of all guests and the guides. Guests will be weighed upon check-in. In addition, participants must be in good health and without neck or back injuries. Pregnant women are not allowed to participated, and those with a fear of heights should not join the tour.

What are the rules for children?

Children ages 8-13 are required to have a parent participate on the zipline tour with them and sign their participation agreement.

What safety measures are in place for the tour?

All guides are CPR, First Aid, and ACCT certified. Before embarking on the zipline adventure, participants are trained in using the equipment and lines. Additional safety measures are in place throughout the activity.
