Located on the beachfront along Kaanapali Beach, Maui Nui Luau at Black Rock offers an authentic Hawaiian ceremony and buffet for guests of all ages. Join the Tihati cast on a spectacular voyage through the South Pacific during the Maui Nui Luau at the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa. An exciting and colorful presentation of the Polynesian culture from Hawaii, Tahiti, Fiji, Rarotonga, New Zealand and Samoa, set to pulsating and syncopated drum beats. From the celebrative festival dances of Tahiti, the fierce warrior dances of Fiji, the exotic hypnotizing dances of the Tuamotus, the legendary dance of the Tahitian princess Tiare to the intriguing fireknife dance of Samoa. For those in love, dance with a loved one during the Hawaiian Wedding song.

The Maui Nui Luau (formerly the Kaanapali Sunset Luau) takes place right at the edge of Kaanapali's famous Black Rock Point. Watch daring youth leap and dive from the point as the sun sets amidst gorgeous views of Lanai and Molokai at this Maui luau grounds.

Luau events include:
  • Lei greeting, cocktails, Hawaiian music, Hawaiian games and activities, and a traditional imu ceremony
  • Delicious Hawaiian-style dinner buffet
  • A Polynesian performance and show by Tihati Productions including the spectacular fire knife dance

The delicious full-service dinner buffet includes three courses, beverages and an open bar. Menu items include the following.

Where do I park?

Self-parking in the parking structure is $2 with validation. Valet parking is available for $5 with validation. Please bring your ticket to the luau grounds to be stamped to receive these special rates.

Is the luau family-friendly?

Yes! The luau is enjoyable for all ages. Children ages 5 and under can also join for free. Remember to select a free ticket for them at the time of booking.

What is on the Maui Nui Luau menu?

The Maui Nui Luau buffet menu includes a selection of crisp salads, tasty vegetables, local-style fried rice, Hawaiian-style cuisine including slow-roasted pork fresh from the imu, and scrumptious desserts. The menu is subject to change and availability.

What's included in my ticket?

The Maui Nui Luau includes a self-service buffet with a gorgeous sunset, kalua pig cooked in the imu on the luau grounds, flower lei or or carved wooden necklace (subject to availability), Polynesian dance show, and a variety of drinks including alcoholic beverages from the open bar.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable weather-appropriate clothing and footwear. Please be prepared with hats, sunglasses, sunscreen, or any sun protection for the warm weather before the sunset.

What happens during inclement weather?

The luau is an outdoor event and may be canceled or moved indoors due to inclement weather. If the event is moved indoors and you choose not to attend, you can cancel your reservation up to 24 hours prior to your scheduled luau day. If the luau is canceled due to weather, you will receive a refund unless it is rescheduled.
