Yes! The park features six dedicated kids' areas with splash pads, shallow pools, and mini slides. Highlights include Kinderhaven in the Blastenhoff section, Kiddie Coast in the East section with a pirate ship, and Schatze’s Paw'nd in Schatze's Storybrook Park—home to the first water coaster designed for kids.
Schlitterbahn does not charge admission for children under 3 years of age.
Several rides and attractions have minimum height requirements, including the Master Blaster, Dragon's Revenge, Bahnzai, Double Loop Body Slide, Backsplash, Torrent, Kristal River, The Falls, Deluge, and Downhill Racer. Height requirements and specific rider instructions are posted at the entrance to each attraction.
Weight restrictions apply to select attractions (including body slides and blasters) and restrictions vary. - Black Knight, Dragon's Revenge, and Master Blaster Uphill Water Coaster: Max 250 lbs single rider; Max 400 lbs double rider - Downhill Racer: Max 250 lbs per rider - Bahnzai Pipeline, Boogie Bahn Surfing Ride, Der Bahn Speed Slides, Double Loop Body Slides, Han's Hideout, Soda Straw Body Slide: Max 300 lbs per rider - Wolfpack Raft Slide: Max 550 lbs combined weight Scales are used at Dragon's Revenge, Master Blaster, and Wolfpack.
Schlitterbahn will remain open on most rainy days; however, in the event of severe inclement weather, such as lightning, heavy rain, or high winds, Schlitterbahn attractions may need to close for the safety of our guests. In the event rides do shut down they will reopen as soon as it is safe. Since the waterpark remains open most rainy days, they do not offer rain checks or refunds.
You are more than welcome to bring your own food into the park, but you don't need to. Schlitterbahn New Braunfels permits one cooler per guest with valid admission ticket. Please make sure it is smaller than 26”L x 16”W x 16”D. Alcohol and glass containers are prohibited. All coolers and picnic supplies are checked upon entry.
Schlitterbahn accepts exclusively cashless payments throughout the park. Simply swipe or tap your credit card, debit card, or smart device with Apple Pay or Google Pay where you would normally use cash.
Cash-to-card kiosks are available at the main entrance, main locker area and Wave entrance, as well as the Surfenburg and Blastenhoff entrances. You can convert your cash into a prepaid debit card you can use anywhere, not just inside the park.
Smoking of any kind, including vapor and e-cigarettes, is prohibited in Schlitterbahn.

Guests must wear swimwear appropriate for water activities. Clothing should be family-friendly—thongs, sheer, or overly revealing attire is not permitted. T-shirts and cover-ups are allowed. Swim shoes are encouraged but may need to be removed on certain attractions. Swimwear with metal buttons, rivets, snaps, or zippers is not allowed on Backsplash, Boogie Bahn, Der Bahn, Double Loops, the slides at Han's Hideout, and Soda Straws. Park staff reserves the right to determine the appropriateness of attire.
Leave valuables at home whenever possible, and avoid bringing them into the park or leaving them visible in your car. Use a locker to store cash, keys, and other small items, as they can fall out during rides. Schlitterbahn is not responsible for lost or stolen items in the park or parking areas. Glasses and sunglasses may come off on some attractions, so secure them with a neck strap.
Natural shaded seating is provided throughout the park, but they urge everyone to protect delicate skin from the sun with sunscreen, hats, beach footwear, and lightweight shirts.
Schlitterbahn New Braunfels Waterpark has two amazing sections that are separated by a few city blocks. They have trams that run all day to get you from one side to the other. Find a map of the park and both sections.
They have a limited number of life jackets and kid's tubes, or tubes with bottoms, for use at no charge. They are available near several attractions and key areas throughout the park on a first-come, first-serve basis. You may also bring your own life jacket. Guests may not use their own recreational flotation devices in the waterpark. Personal life-jackets are always welcome.
