Description

Wicked, the winner of more than 50 major awards, including a Grammy and three Tony Awards, tells the untold story of the witches of Oz, long before Dorothy's arrival. Two girls meet in Oz: one, born with emerald-green skin, is smart, fiery, and misunderstood, while the other is beautiful, ambitious, and very popular. The musical follows their extraordinary journey as they become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good.

With a captivating score featuring hits like "Defying Gravity," "Popular," and "For Good," Wicked has been praised as "the defining musical of the decade" by The New York Times and "a magical place" by Time Magazine.

Based on Gregory Maguire's novel, Wicked features music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, a book by Winnie Holzman, direction by Joe Mantello, and musical staging by Wayne Cilento. Entertainment Weekly has declared it "The Best Musical of the Decade," and Variety has called it "A Cultural Phenomenon."
